The MacBook is a beautiful machine, whichever version you have, and there are a ton of accessories that can make your user experience awesome. There are also some accessories you should consider when it comes to protecting your MacBook. Hard shell cases are great for minimizing scratches, prevent cracks, and (glob forbid) providing some protection in the event of a drop.
Here are our favorite hard shell cases!
Mosiso Hard Shell
Mosiso’s hard shell case for MacBook Pro is is a snap-on case that’s soft to the touch, thanks to its rubberized exterior. This not only makes your MacBook easier to hold onto, but it adds a bit of shock absorption, should you bounce your MacBook off of something by accident.
Mosiso has cases to fit all recent MacBooks, and there are around 40 colors and patterns to choose from. If you want to protect your MacBook Pro in style, go with Mosiso. You have a ton of color options to choose from and each case comes with a matching keyboard cover and a screen protector.
Make sure you select a case for the specific MacBook Pro you have before checking out! Mosiso cases start around $16.
UESWILL soft touch
UESWILL has over 30 color options to choose from with its hard shell cases (the Nebula pattern is SO cool!), so you can style your MacBook Pro to suit your preferences.
This two-piece case easily snaps on the top and bottom of your MacBook and features slots on the bottom for ventilation, allowing your MacBook Pro to stay cool when using it for long periods.
These cases are available for bot the 13-inch and 15-inch, starting around $14, so make sure you choose the right model before checking out!
ProCase’s frosted look for your MacBook Pro is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a hard shell MacBook case. There are 15 color options to choose from and each case comes with a rubber keyboard cover to help protect it from spills and dirt.
ProCase’s case easily snaps on and off, and its rubberized texture gives you a good grip on your laptop when you’re carrying it and helps prevent smudgy fingerprints.
Check it out for $17 and make sure you choose the right size before checkout.
i-Blason Frosted hard shell
i-Blason’s cases, while similar to the others on this list (how many variations can there be, really?), are a little thinner, so if you’re looking for a case that adds minimal bulk, this is an excellent option.
i-Blason keeps it fairly simple, with blue, pink, black, or clear color options, and, like others, its matte finish keeps away fingerprints and is somewhat scratch-resistant. It’s available for both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro, so make sure you have the right size before checkout.
KEC’s hard shell case options are for folks who want to add a splash of color and whimsy to their MacBook Pro. There are 10 design options for the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro, including a gorgeous blue sky, a super cool sea option, and a lovely lined floral print.
There are quite a few more design options for the 15-inch model. These cases are rubberized for extra grip when you’re carrying them and the bottom piece is vented so that your laptop doesn’t overheat. Cases start at $20.
While KEC offers gorgeous color patterns, iCasso offers some very cool images, and some of them even come with matching keyboard covers (like the image is on the keyboard cover — super rad). My favorite is the world map, which looks kind of like an old pirate map.
There’s also a cat with cool shades on, a mandala, a cute cactus, and a neat right brain/left brain design. These are available for both the 15-inch and 13-inch MacBook Pro, and are perfect if you really want your MacBook Pro to stand out in a crowd. Pricing starts around $18.
